People wouldn’t resort to this type of Braves Greg Maddux NL CY Young Award Signature Shirt (euthanasia, suicide) if there was actual help without downplaying the struggles of being “high functioning” (which I find to be a stupid label, as it makes it seem like that means a consistent level of functioning). The lower-level autistics get support, but we tend to have to fake it until we make it, and I hope that changes someday. It’s exhausting. Of course, I’m not saying their lives are easier, but they have a lot more access to helpful resources. Although some resources are more harmful than helpful. It’s not fun to be autistic in this world. People making “high functioning” autism trendy on places like Tik Tok also makes it more difficult. It’s really frustrating, as it’s not some quirky personality trait to roleplay online, and then live an unafflicted life offline.
